Jamie Caroline, Linus Lundqvist and Nicolai Kjaergaard were the top-three in the first race of the weekend on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. Here's what the trio had to say after the race:
Jamie Caroline, winner:
"It's pretty good to get my second win in three races, the car was mega, it didn't fall off at all throughout the race and it was faultless like it's been all weekend. I knew therefore that it was all down to me which adds a bit of pressure knowing it's all down to the driver.
"The start wasn't great, so I was mirror watching at the start, it was a terrible start and possibly the worst I've ever had and worse than some of my practice ones I think! But we got plenty of heat into the tyres in the first few laps and I was able to push like I did in qualifying straight from the off and managed to get a gap. From there it was a case of trying to maintain the gap, minimising mistakes and things like that.
"Race two will be fun, I usually like a hack from the back so I'm really looking forward to it."
Linus Lundqvist, second:
"I was not very happy with my qualifying this morning, I knew that we could have got pole if I had put everything together but unfortunately I didn't and it was very tight and I ended up fourth.
"Around Brands it is very difficult to overtake so I'm very happy with second today. Considering the tyres were a bit different, all the Carlin drivers were on new tyres and we were on old so I'm very happy with it and the pace was really good, Nicolai only beat my lap on the final lap, so I'm well pleased with the result today.
Nicolai Kjaergaard, third:
"After two difficult weekends to go out again and have really good pace is really good, and we got fastest lap as well. I was hoping for P2 or P1 though, and I got a bad start so instead of getting ahead of Caroline I lost out to Linus, but in the end I'm happy to be back on the podium.
"It will be very interesting on Sunday morning, it will be difficult but if you get a good first lap and then get on with it we should be able to climb up the order a bit and hopefully I'll keep my pole for race three as well with the fastest race lap."
