Douglas Motorsport’s Arvin Esmaeili is aiming for his best results of the season at the penultimate rounds of the year at Donington Park on 22-23 September.
The Swedish driver has shown strong development as the season has progressed and heads to the East Midlands circuit looking to continue his progress.
“From the start to now it’s been a huge learning curve. Every time I step in the car I feel I’m learning something new, and we knew it was going to be like this the whole season and that we were going to be fighting to catch up to the quicker drivers rather than be at the front.
“In terms of progress I think it’s been quite good and I’m turning out to be a better driver than I was at the start of the season.”
With two top five finishes under his belt so far this season at Snetterton and Brands Hatch, Esmaeili is optimistic of improving on that at the next rounds.
“For Donington, obviously we always want to go a bit better, so I’m aiming for my best finishes so far. If I want to dream a bit, then maybe a podium. That would be really nice to have under my belt for the season, but I just want to improve more and be closer to the pace up front and that’s all I can really ask of myself.”
“I’ve never raced at Donington before though, I’ve been around the GP circuit once and I’ve not driven it flat out without traffic so it will be interesting, but since I’ve done it with traffic, I should be able to find some good overtaking manoeuvres at least!”
