BRDC British F3 driver Ben Hingeley will get behind the wheel of a GP3 car at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina circuit this week (1-2 December) as he evaluates his 2018 options following a successful season in British F3.
Hingeley, who will drive with Jenzer Motorsport in the Middle East, won four races in British F3 this year and finished third in the overall standings with Fortec Motorsports. Jenzer ended the GP3 season third in the teams' championship, securing wins with Alessio Lorandi and ex-BRDC F4 runner-up Arjun Maini.
“I can’t wait to get to Abu Dhabi!” said Hingeley. “It’s such a fantastic opportunity and I’m thankful – it’ll be a fantastic experience!
“I understand that it’s obviously a big step up from British F3 but I want to go there, soak it all up and learn as much as I possibly can – if we can challenge at the front against the experienced competition then that will be very satisfying.
“I’m coming off the back of a good year in British F3 and there’s no pressure really, I’ll just get out on track and see what I can do – it’ll definitely be a challenge but it’s one I’m going to relish, for sure.”
