Belgian racer Ulysse De Pauw is in determined mood heading to Snetterton this weekend, after banking three solid results at Oulton Park.
The 17-year-old Douglas Motorsport driver qualified fifth on the grid for his first race, and then converted that to fourth on his British F3 debut, just a couple of seconds shy of a maiden podium.
Rising from 10th on the grid for race two, he again made up ground, claiming seventh place, and then raced to sixth place from seventh on the grid in race three.
“The pace was good, it was my first time at Oulton Park so I had to discover the track on the Tuesday beforehand and it suited me well,” he commented.
“The pace was good in practice, I had a good qualifying and scored some solid points during the weekend.
“I was missing a bit of speed during the races and we had a slight issue in the last one, so it could have been a bit better, but for my first races in British F3 I’ve already got some solid points and P4 in the championship is a good beginning.”
His attentions are set on a good qualifying performance in Norfolk this weekend, and hopes to build solid performances from there.
“I’ve had had two days of testing at Snetterton, the pace was good, and I expect it to be at least better than at Oulton Park. I’m aiming for a good qualifying as it’s really important, it’s hard to overtake, so we will have to work hard to have a good lap in qualifying.”
