Drivers crossed the Channel (metaphorically) for pre-race testing at Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps circuit last night ahead of this weekend’s second round of the British F3 iRacing Championship.
Last Sunday’s opener at Oulton Park saw Chris Dittmann Racing’s Nico Varrone dominate, with a win and a fourth-place finish enough to catapult himself and the team to the top of the standings – team points aided by Kieran Vernon’s third place in race one.
But who impressed during yesterday’s test session? It was close…
Just 1.3 seconds separated the top 17, with Fortec Motorsports’ Johnathan Hoggard – runner-up in race one last weekend - sharing the spoils at the top with JHR Developments’ Carter Williams, though Hoggard recorded the fastest lap.
This weekend will see BTCC’s Tom Ingram join as guest driver, and Maximus Marzorati trades places with Williams for JHR.
