Chris Dittmann Racing’s Nico Varrone extended his lead in the British F3 iRacing Championship last night (7 June) with another pair of accomplished drives on the (virtual) Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, putting himself within touching distance of the title with just one round remaining.
Lanan Racing’s Piers Prior kept up the pressure though with fourth and sixth-place finishes to sit 25 points adrift as we head to Donington Park this Sunday (14 June) for the final event in the five-round contest.
The Douglas Motorsport duo of Harrison Scott – still nursing a broken wrist from a training injury – and Ulysse de Pauw leapfrogged to third and fourth in the standings, completing the list of drivers who are mathematically in contention for the title.
Lanan Racing’s Bart Horsten slipped to fifth in the standings but his points, coupled with Josh Mason’s for seventh and tenth-place finishes, keep Lanan top of the team championship standings by seven points from Chris Dittmann Racing – it’s going to be a close-fought battle next weekend for the team title!
