Johnathan Hoggard's double pole at Brands Hatch last weekend moved him a step closer to taking this year's Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup.
Hoggard's second double of the year, following his similar achievement at Donington Park in June means that he now has a total of five pole positions so far this year, two more than Chris Dittmann Racing's Ayrton Simmons, who currently lies in second place.
Hoggard's five poles have earned him a total of £1,000 already, and would take home another £1,000 if he wins the competition.
The British driver was in excellent form at Brands Hatch, taking race one pole by 0.326 seconds from Kiern Jewiss, and race three pole (decided on second fastest times), by 0.212s, again from Jewiss. He converted race one pole into his fifth win of the year, and then narrowly lost out on a sixth win of the year by finishing second to Jewiss in race three.
Hoggard's teammate Kris Wright started from pole for race two, and collected a trophy as a result.
The driver with the most pole positions* throughout the season will again receive an end-of-year prize of £1,000 and a trophy, signifying a total prize pot of £4,200 for the year.
The award is named after Jack Cavill, who played a vital supporting role in the early careers of several notable drivers from the 1960s onwards.
The prizes are presented at each round by Jack's son John, who has followed in his father's footsteps, helping famous names such as Tim Sugden and Will Power.
