Pole position for the opening race of the weekend at Silverstone was enough to propel Carlin's championship leader Clement Novalak into the lead of the 2019 Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup.
Novalak's qualifying pole was his second in succession after also securing the honour at Snetterton, and puts him a single pole ahead of rivals Kaylen Frederick, Ayrton Simmons, Johnathan Hoggard, and Neil Verhagen, each with one pole each.
Verhagen secured his first pole of the season for race three, joining the race for the end of year cash prize.
Both drivers claimed £200 and a trophy for their poles, while American Benjamin Pedersen secured pole for race two, claiming a trophy in the process.
The driver with the most pole positions* throughout the season will again receive an end-of-year prize of £1,000 and a trophy, signifying a total prize pot of £4,200 for the year.
The award is named after Jack Cavill, who played a vital supporting role in the early careers of several notable drivers from the 1960s onwards.
The prizes are presented at each round by Jack's son John, who has followed in his father's footsteps, helping famous names such as Tim Sugden and Will Power.
