Kaylen Frederick, Neil Verhagen and Manuel Maldonado were the top-three finishers in the second BRDC British F3 race of the weekend at Oulton Park on Monday morning. Here's what the top-three had to say at the end of the race:
Winner, Kaylen Frederick, Carlin:
"We knew we had the pace on Saturday and it was just a case of putting it all together, which we did today. I got a good start and was able to pull in front of Neil on the way down to turn one. I just kept my head looking forward and just ran my own race.
"It might have looked easy but all that time I made up was just me pushing the most out of the car that I could, so obviously it was quite on edge for me throughout the race, but it gave me quite a dominant win.
"Starting P4 for race three, I've had some decent starts this weekend so I will see if I can get a position off the line, but I'll definitely be challenging to get up to the podiums for the race."
Second, Neil Verhagen, Double R Racing:
"It's definitely not the race we want to be getting the podiums in, but nevertheless we'll take the podium and the points. We've got some work to do, we didn't have the pace to fight Frederick in the race but we need to look over that and figure out what we can do better as a team to improve that for race three.
"He did a good job on the start and that was really going to be my only opportunity to overtake as it's very hard to pass around here. I did a good job covering that off and there weren't any other safety cars to give me an opportunity, he had more pace than we did so it was going to be very difficult for me to do something, it was a case of hoping he would make a mistake of some sort, but he did a good race.
"We're going to be fighting in race three, and aiming for good points there so we'll look at what we could have done better in race two and carry that over into the last one.
Third, Manuel Maldonado, Fortec Motorsports:
"It was a really good start there and I think that's what you have to do at Oulton Park where it's hard to overtake. It's really all done in the first lap so I was very happy with that start.
"I think it was the best we could have done for that race, we've been struggling a little bit this weekend but we've got to keep our heads down and look forward to the next race.
"I've got to keep in mind that it's not been the best start but even though we still have good positions and we've managed to bag some good points for the championship so I'm quite happy with that."
