Johnathan Hoggard, Ayrton Simmons and Clement Novalak were the top-three drivers in the final race of the season opening weekend at Oulton Park this afternoon (Monday). Here's what the lead trio had to say at the end of the race:

Winner, Johnathan Hoggard, Fortec Motorsports:
"I struggled at the start and I think we need to do some more practice starts to make sure we get the technique right. Then it was a case of not being able to do much and just following the two guys in front. I could see what was going to happen when they started going side by side at a corner that doesn't really allow it, and I took my moment and managed to get into the lead and went from there.

"I made sure I was consistent without making too many mistakes and managed to pull out the gap a little bit at the end of the race."

Second, Ayrton Simmons, Chris Dittmann Racing:
"I was just trying to push too much and pull out a gap to the cars behind. I ended up making a bit of a mistake, so it was my fault and I apologise to the team for that.

"After that we kept our head down and could keep the same pace as the other guys. I did try and get the place back, never say never, I tried to get him back around the outside of the last corner, but after that it was a but hard trying to follow."

Third, Clement Novalak, Carlin:
"I felt like I just got pushed off and I stayed on the track, he came across the track and I don't know if it was intentional or not, but it put me on the grass and in a compromising position. But we'll take third place and move on to the next one."
