Chinese driver Sun Yue Yang scored his first podium in BRDC British F3 last time out at Silverstone, and the Carlin driver is looking forward to further progress in the second half of the season.
“I was very happy with my podium at Silverstone. It is a meaningful moment in my career as it was my first podium finish since I moved into single seaters, but my goal is far beyond that. I’m still aiming to be first and I am confident about it."
‘Sunny’ has enjoyed a strong start to his season, with several top-10 finishes, and sits just outside the championship top-10 in the overall standings. He admits he is enjoying his season and is learning all the time.
“I’m really enjoying the championship, it has developed my skills and I enjoy the atmosphere of the race events. My goal for the rest of the season wasn’t too high, I wish I will keep progressing and aim to be consistently quick and head for the front row.”
Attentions turn to Spa Francorchamps in three weeks’ time, a venue he has experience of racing at last year.
“I’ve raced at Spa before in Formula Renault, it’s a difficult track and I am looking forward to racing there again in British F3.”
