Double R Racing’s Pavan Ravishankar is all set for the new BRDC British F3 season, which starts at Oulton Park on Easter weekend (20/22 April).
The Singaporean made strong progress in his first season of British F3 last year, with highlights including a dominant win at Silverstone in June, and a return to the podium at Donington Park in September.
With a year’s experience at this level under his belt, the 19-year-old is in confident mood as he reunites with last year’s championship-winning team.
“I’m looking forward to getting the season underway at Oulton Park,” he said. “This year the grid looks strong and I look forward to putting together strong performances.
“Last year we showed potential, however our performance was not consistent. The goal is to be performing at my best consistently, which will bring the strong results.”
He’s also looking forward to getting stuck in with a competitive field once more, after some tasty scraps last year.
“It really does look strong this year, and I am looking forward to lots of on track battles, however I’d still say the main opposition will be the man in the mirror!”
Ravishankar also has the distinction of being one of the few racing drivers at this level from Singapore, and he hopes his successes will encourage more drivers from his nation to begin motorsport careers.
“There is a sense of pride being the only Singapore-born driver at this level, however I would definitely rather more drivers from Singapore climb up the motorsport ladder.
“With how motorsport has grown recently in Singapore I am sure that in the near future there will be many more Singapore drivers in higher categories of motorsport.”
