Updated Oulton Park race one result - Jewiss wins after Frederick penalty

Saturday 1 August 2020

The race result for the opening race of the BRDC British F3 season at Oulton Park has been amended after 10 second false start penalties were applied to original winner Kaylen Frederick, and Douglas Motorsport's Manaf Hijjawi, who originally finished in 10th.

The penalties drop Frederick to eighth and Hijjawi to 16th in the amended result, with Kiern Jewiss therefore taking the race one victory, with teammate Ulysse De Pauw now classified in second, and Carlin's Nazim Azman taking third.

Pole sitter Louis Foster had been handed the same 10 second penalty during the race, but following investigation and having heard evidence from the competitors, the Clerk of the Course found that car 8 (Frederick) and 71 (Hijjawi) had also made false starts and were therefore penalised post-race. The amended result is shown below:

BRDC British F3 Championship, Oulton Park race one amended result:

1. Kiern Jewiss, Douglas Motorsport, 11 laps
2. Ulysse De Pauw, Douglas Motorsport, +1.247s

15. Piers Prior, Lanan Racing, +11.936s
16. Manaf Hijjawi, Douglas Motorsport, +16.782s
DNF. Josh Mason, Lanan Racing, 3 laps completed

The amended result doesn't change the reverse grid for race two, which starts at 17.20, as the penalties would have benefited the drivers on the reverse. Therefore the grid is formed based on original finishing positions, and is as follows:
