Carlin have confirmed that British racer Clement Novalak will join the team for five rounds this season in the 2018 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship.
Novalak, who is taking on his first season racing single-seater cars, comes from a strong karting background and has recently completed the TRS New Zealand Championship in anticipation of the 2018 season.
Despite his young age, Novalak is no stranger to the racing world. Competing in karting professionally since 2014, he enjoyed success before moving on to single-seaters for the 2018 season.
For his first foray, the 17-year-old made his way to New Zealand for the Toyota Racing Series NZ, where he enjoyed a brilliant showing in the back-to-back race series. Securing two wins, four podiums and three fastest laps, Novalak ended the season fifth overall in the championship standings. His impressive performance during the campaign didn’t go unnoticed – with many highlighting the achievements of the rising star.
Returning to the UK, Novalak continued testing with Carlin in anticipation of the 2018 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship. This will see the Briton participate in a dual programme taking in five rounds of the season as he runs alongside a campaign in the Formula Renault 2.0 Championship.
