Chris Dittmann Racing has confirmed that Nicolás Varrone will join the team to contest the 2020 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship.
The Argentine rising star is already a proven race-winner in the UK’s premier single-seater series, taking a sublime victory at Spa-Francorchamps last season, as well as an additional podium at Silverstone. He also proved popular with British F3 fans, securing the most votes in a social media contest over the winter to decide the best overtaking move of the 2019 British F3 season, with his manoeuvre on two cars in Belgium.
Prior to his British F3 exploits, the 19-year-old claimed the 2018 VdeV Challenge Monoplace title with six wins, 11 podiums and 13 pole positions, and was an experienced competitor in Formula Renault 2.0 back in Argentina between 2016-18.
He will join British Formula 4 graduate Josh Skelton at the Tewkesbury-based team for 2020, with the team also in talks with other potential drivers to fill the third seat.
