Javier Sagrera Pont has been announced as Elite Motorsport's first driver in the 2021 BRDC British Formula 3 Championship, ahead of the team's maiden participation in the UK's leading single-seater series this season.
The Spaniard will race for Elite in just his second season of car racing, following a partial season in last year's Spanish F4 Championship, achieving multiple top-10 finishes in the first half of the campaign.
The 17-year-old began racing in karts in 2015, progressing through the Cadet ranks of the Catalan and Spanish championships, and picking up multiple Rotax race wins. Sagrera Pont finished second in the 2017 Spanish Championship and has raced in the finals of the Winter Cup, the WSK, European Championship and the World Championship.
The young Spaniard is affiliated with Seven Grand Prix, formed in the '80s by Mexican Picho Toledano as a driver development programme.
